A beautiful Anand Karaj ceremony, in a backdrop of vibrant rich decoration, coupled with great food, dance and music is the hallmark of punjabi weddings. While Punjabi weddings mimic the fun loving animated nature of Punjabi people, they also reflect a strong sense of Sikh tradition with its many beautiful functions. Keeping this in mind, we at The Wedding Card Co., have designed invitations inspired by the richness, vibrancy and tradition of the Sikh community. Our invitations are for the modern Sikh bride and groom, who are looking for cards that not only reflect the rich Punjabi culture, but are also contemporary in design.

A typical Sikh wedding comprises a number of functions and is spread over a few days, sometimes a few weeks. Pre-wedding functions can include a Roka ceremony, Sagai (Engagement), Mehendi, Cocktail and Sangeet, whereas a Reception function is typically organised post the Anand Karaj (Wedding). We have structured our invitations keeping this in mind. If you are organising an intimate wedding with just one function, say the Anand Karaj, you can go with our base offering of an envelope with 1 function insert. If you have more functions, you can add inserts for each function. This way you can customise your invite to each guest based on which functions they are invited for.
You can also choose to have varying quantities of function inserts based on your requirement, say 100 Anand Karaj Inserts & 75 Sangeet Inserts, but 300 Reception Inserts. Moreover, all design sets have a slight variation in the design/colour across the inserts, to add a little variety and fun whilst maintaining consistency to the overall invitation.
You can further personalise each insert by choosing different motifs from our extensive motif library - you can choose from a range of Sikh motifs such as an Ek Onkar with or without lines from the Guru Granth Sahib, as well as specific function related motifs such as an Ambi for Mehendi or Champagne glasses for the Cocktail event to add a touch of modernity.
The best part about our offering is that no matter which design you choose in this Punjabi designer wedding card collection, you can extend it to your entire invitation suite - from your printed invites to your digital invites as well as Wedding RSVP cards and Wedding Details cards. You will find a link to the matching Punjabi wedding eCard, RSVP card and Details card in the description of each printed card design.
Wedding invitation wording is an area where some of us may get stuck because it’s a once in a lifetime event and we don’t know how to write what we really want to say. Our team has curated a number of wording templates in our invitation wording section which reflect the typical writing structure of Sikh wedding cards. This will provide you with a good base to start thinking about wording for your card. These templates have been carefully written to cover all the key information you would want to include like parents names, grandparents names, function details including date and time, and most importantly how to craft this in a warm, respectful and welcoming way.
Last but not least, a Punjabi wedding card is incomplete without mentioning the key members of your family. And here at the Wedding Card Co. we understand the importance of this. The ‘’Best Compliments Insert’’ has been designed specially for this requirement. It can have the names of your paternal and maternal side relatives and ideally be placed at the end after all other function inserts in the envelope. It can also mention contact name and number, your unique wedding hashtag and with concluding remarks such as “We kindly request no boxed gifts please” or “Blessings only”.
